Dan Perata Training is a dog training facility in the Bayview district of San Francisco.
Its programs are residential and facility-based rather than in-home, and its boarding and
daycare are run on the same training basis as its camps rather than as separate services.
The published methodology uses no pain-based methods.

Owners participate in the programs: dogs in the flagship board-and-train stay Monday to
Friday and return home at weekends, so that handling is practised at home during the
program rather than only after it.

Office, pickup and drop-off:

- Monday to Friday: 8:00 am - 7:00 pm
- Saturday and Sunday: 9:00 am - 12:00 pm and 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Boarded dogs stay at the facility around the clock with 24/7 care. Pickup, drop-off and
classes take place during the hours listed above, so a boarded dog cannot be collected
outside them.

- [Dan Camp](https://www.danperata.com/dancamp): The flagship board-and-train program.
  Dogs stay Monday to Friday and return home on weekends. The program runs 4–6 weeks,
  chosen to match the time it takes to establish a new habit. Covers basic obedience,
  crate and potty training for puppies, leash skills, and socialisation.
- [Puppy Camp](https://www.danperata.com/dancamp#puppycamp): Board-and-train for puppies,
  covering crate training, house training, bite inhibition, and early socialisation.
- [Private Lessons](https://www.danperata.com/dancamp#privatetraining): One-on-one
  sessions at the facility, sold in packages of two, for a specific non-behavioural
  training issue such as recall, leash skills, or a single command. Explicitly not
  intended for comprehensive behaviour modification such as aggression or separation
  anxiety, which are directed to the camp programs instead.
- [The Box](https://www.danperata.com/dancamp#thebox): A patent-pending motion-based
  training system developed in-house. It works from the observation that a moving dog
  cannot react to a trigger, so behaviours can be addressed by introducing controlled
  auditory and visual stimuli — skateboards, barking, vacuum cleaners — while the dog is
  in motion and in a secure environment.

  boarding and daycare run on a training basis, with commands, walking habits, and
  socialisation reinforced throughout. Available to dogs not enrolled in a training
  program.

## Support after a program

Graduates have continuing access to the trainers for the life of the dog, through Zoom
sessions, classes, or private sessions, for regressions or new issues.
