Puppy Board and Train in San Francisco
Puppy Camp is our board and train program for puppies. We take puppies from eight weeks old. Your puppy trains with us at our San Francisco facility Monday through Friday and comes home at the weekend, so the habits form in both places — here and in your house. Puppy training is modified for their age.
We accept puppies as young as eight weeks
We accept puppies as young as eight weeks and are experts in building a great foundation that will make a huge difference during every stage of development.
Start when you first get your puppy home. It is essential to begin lessons such as name recognition, recall, and crate and potty training immediately. Although all dogs eventually need to learn the same commands, training goals vary by age — and as with all lessons, consistency is the key to success.
And remember: dogs are considered puppies until they're eighteen months old. If yours is older than you thought "puppy" meant, this is still the right program.
Your puppy comes home every weekend
If you are not traveling, you get to take your puppy home every weekend. That is deliberate — the training has to work in your house, not just in ours. We require you to be an active participant in your puppy's success, and the weekends are where you do that work.
The three things puppy training has to get right
Crate training and potty training — establishing a routine that works for you.
Proper socialization — you should be able to trust your pup in any situation.
Confidence training — using love and trust, your pup will quickly learn their place in your family.
Anything you can think of that a puppy might do, we address it.

We teach you as much as we teach your puppy
Whether this is your first puppy or your fifth, working with our trainers gives you the peace of mind of knowing you're fostering a well-adjusted, balanced dog, and learning how to develop calm, confident leadership for your pup.
A core part of our program is teaching you — through lessons and lots of hands-on practice — how to maintain and reinforce the ideal behaviors your puppy is learning. Our fun and interactive puppy camp gives you the time and consistency it takes to properly train a puppy.
No pain, no treat bribes
We use no pain methods, and we do not bribe with treats. Everything we do is habit-based learning and consistency, with love and praise as the reward. Treats work against your dog's basic nature; in the long term they fail.
After camp, we're still here
After camp, we are here for additional training issues as they come up. Once you have graduated from one of our programs there are multiple options to continue reinforcing the training — Zoom sessions, classes and private sessions. Our commitment to you is for the life of your dog.
Common questions about Puppy Camp
How young can my puppy start?
Eight weeks. We can begin teaching you to communicate with your puppy as early as eight weeks old.
Is my dog too old for Puppy Camp?
Dogs are considered puppies until they're eighteen months old.
Does my puppy stay overnight?
Your puppy is with us Monday through Friday and comes home at the weekend, unless you're traveling.
Is this the same as Dan Camp?
It's the same modified board and train structure, with the training modified for a puppy's age and attention span. For adult dogs, see Dan Camp.
Do you also board adult dogs?
Yes — boarding and daycare run year-round, on the same training basis. See Dog Boarding and Daycare.
When should I book?
As soon as you have your puppy. The earlier training starts the easier it is — and spaces are limited, so reserve your spot early.
